Mayoral Candidates Stand United Against Cuomo at Nursing Home Memorial

In a rare moment of unity, nine New York City mayoral candidates—from both sides of the political aisle—came together at a memorial in Cobble Hill to condemn former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s handling of COVID-19 in nursing homes. Standing in front of the We Care Memorial Wall, the candidates called out Cuomo’s March 2020 directive and the state’s manipulation of nursing home death data. With photos of victims behind them and grieving families beside them, speakers demanded accountability, transparency, and an apology. The event marked the fifth anniversary of the controversial policy and sent a clear message: Cuomo’s record is still under fire.
